Rear ’hugger’ fender： The length of the rear ’hugger’ fender in carbon for the Ducati models 749／999 was chosen so that it not only minimises the dirt accumulation on the motorcycle， but it will also do the strut good if there is a relief from flying stones， dirt and ’sandblasting’. Especially the life span of the seals and strut piston rod will distinctly increase through the installation of an efficient rear fender.
The rear mudguard reduces considerably the amount of dirt and spray thrown up by the rear wheel and provides much needed protection to the shock absorber and the underseat area. Referring to the different models and types of motorcycles， the rear hugger incorporates different stock suspension and tire sizes. Like all of our carbon fibre parts， it was made according to the latest protocols and industry standards and can be considered to encompass all aspects of current ’best of industry’ practice. The part is made completely out of pre-preg carbon fibre materials using an autoclave. As with all our carbon parts， we use a clear plastic coating that not only improves the appearance， but also protects the carbon fibre from scratching and has a unique UV resistance.
