ピクチャー・プリントの中で、特にコレクターからの支持が厚いのがこの「MAIDEN（乙女）」と呼ばれるデザイン。オフセットの網点を利用し、切り抜いたベースの上に重ね刷りするこのプリント方法は、職人の経験や勘が仕上がりを左右する。独特の発色と味わい深い表現ができるのが魅力だが、高い技術が必要とされるため時代が変わると共に使われなくなっていった。幾つものブランドが登場し、競い合うように独自のデザインを投入し続けていた1950年代。その中で開発された新たなプリント方法は、新たなアロハシャツの展開を見せ、ハワイだけでなくアメリカ本土をも巻き込む巨大なムーブメントとなった。この作品を手がけた1934年創業のパシフィック・スポーツウェア社は戦前から続く老舗ブランド。和柄も得意とし、トロピカルデザインではバックパネル・パターンなどの斬新なアロハシャツも数多く展開していた。

Pacific Sportswear, which was founded in 1934 and worked on this work, is a long-established brand that has continued since before the war. He is also good at Japanese patterns, and in tropical design, he has developed many innovative Hawaiian shirts such as back panel patterns.
